     The AF-100 is designed specifically for Opthos customers who require a no-frills, easy-to-use, cost-effective source of microwave power.  It offers the most important operating parameters: power control, frequency stability, and durability. 

     Operation is simple: plug it in and turn it on. The front panel contains an on-off rocker switch for the main power, a display screen, and a rotary knob for controlling power. The display gives the forward and reflected powers in graphical and numerical form, final amplifier temperature, and the output frequency. The rear panel contains an input for the mains power and an N- type RF connector for the microwave output. 

     Solid-state construction ensures stability and durability. An internal power circulator protects the AF-100 from excessive reflected power. A variable speed cooling fan protects the AF-100 from overheating. Internal temperature monitoring will shut the amplifier down in the event of excessive heating.
